Some Words About Me

Hello and thank you for stopping by!
My name is Heike (Hi-Kay), I was born and raised in Germany. I have been living and working in the United States for over 30 years and currently reside in Arizona.
I am certified by the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants as well as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I have an undergraduate degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from Arizona State University, and I was credentialed as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) in 2007. I earned my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies (PA-C) from Northern Arizona University in 2016. My passion lies in diabetes management and weight loss.Over the past few years I have become increasingly aware of a precipitous decline in the quality of life and a variety of physical limitations in my patients, brought on by poor health, mainly due to weight related issues. I do believe that physical health is the principal foundation of overall wellness, however, without a sound “physical wellness” program built on activity (exercise), nutrition, recuperation, and positive thinking, a person would struggle to achieve emotional, intellectual, social, or occupational wellness.

The basic tenets of my program are to partner with you to develop a “personalized plan” that acts as a roadmap to your health and wellness goals. Some of the steps along the way will be:
Get to know you on a more personal level, understand your likes, dislikes, needs, goals, objectives, motivators, and stress red flags. Understand your needs and what you desire to improve on during the journey to a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Develop a schedule for your program that works with you and your lifestyle, tailor the program activities in real-time to compliment your life, and help you learn to accept and implement the program as a long-term lifestyle change.
